W. Bro. Sean Dennis presents a cheque to Dave Dougherty and the staff of Caresco (Pam, Lisa, Sharron, Michelle, Nicky and Helen)
W. Bro Sean Dennis PPrGStdB, Hinchingbrooke Lodge Charity Steward, presented a cheque for £532 to Dave Dougherty and the staff of Caresco at their premises in Sawtry. Dave and the staff showed Sean and W. Bro. Jeremy Crompton around the facility and explained the work the charity does for the community.
The charity supports over 600 people across 15 parishes in the Sawtry area. They run a day club and car scheme, collect and deliver prescriptions, provide a community minibus service and support a foodbank. Together with 16 volunteers the charity operates a charity shop as well as a coffee shop and publish the village magazine, Sawtry Eye. Holders of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Services in 2022 they provide vital community support to Sawtry and the surrounding area.
